Waarbij niet alleen een verhaal wordt vertelt, maar waar de totale belevenis een groot kunstwerk is. De maker heeft iets met spiegels, het projecteren van personen in een indirect beeld. Dit thema loopt als rode draad door het verhaal en weerspiegeld ook de kijk op de wereld van de vluchteling. Wat maakt het leven van een persoon als deze anders dan de gewone mens. Is het een makkelijke prooi? Zien zij de uitbuiting niet? Dit heeft Ben Hania zeer mooi en waardig in beeld gebracht. Het geheel wordt ook vrij luchtig vertelt en dat maakt het een interessante en boeiende film.

De cast speelt ook erg goed, waarbij de hoofdrolspeler Yahya Mahayni hoge ogen gooit. Hij speelt overtuigend en laat het beste van zichzelf zien. Zowel in de emotie als de verbale uitingen grijpen de kijker. Je leeft echt met deze persoon mee. Daarnaast zien we de Vlaamse acteur Koen de Bouw uit zijn comfort zone stappen van de televisieseries in een internationale film. Hij speelt ook hierin erg goed en laat zien dat hij veel in zijn mars heeft. Een erg goede acteur. Naast hem staat actrice Monica Bellucci, een zwaargewicht en zorgt dan ook voor interessante scenes met de Bauw en Bellucci. En actrice Dea Liane debuteert hierin en doet dat erg goed. Een waardig actrice, waar we nog veel van gaan zien.
En tenslotte zorgt het camerawerk en de muziek voor een compleet plaatje. Deze film heeft dan ook zeker de Oscarnominatie voor Beste Buitenlandse Film dik verdient. Ga deze film zeker kijken!
